Thanks to all who responded concerning my encryption question! FYI, yes...I am using the INVISIBLE attribute in the .per file and any DISPLAY statements to hide the value being entered. I should have specified that I wasn't looking for anything elaborate, just a basic encryption/masking algorithm that could be used in conjunction with the programmatic & table-level restrictions already in place (wow, that was a mouthful :-) David Berg's example was pretty much what I was looking for (thx David!), and 1) I can easily modify/enhance this to meet our needs, and 2) the same algorithm can easily be written in Cobol (because these PINS will initially be generated in MVS, then downloaded on our RS6000). Please, if this sparks more questions, comments, or words-of-wisdom, I'm all ears!
