Aix - Informix performance

Ciao ! We have a problem using an Informix-SE 5.x on AIX 4.x All works fine but performance on a RISC machine are very worse than on a Pentium ! Any suggestion ? (The application works fine on SCO, Solaris, SVR4, HP-UX etc.) Thanks
