re: special character printing Sorry, to blanket the bandwidth today, but as I transmitted I was slowly having a couple of things sink in. That and a timely note from Alan Popiel have made things a bit less troublesome. The heart of the good news is that i4gl reports allow "print column" to accept an integer expression. So, if you know how long your escape sequences are you can compute the appropriate position of the next column to the right. You still lose some line space in the process, but it becomes workable.
