Oops!, sorry about that. Must have lost my mind! I just wanted to add a bit of info on my experience with clustering. Sometimes a database will choke when asked to cluster a large table. I called informix about it and they have no record of a bug, but something wrong happened. This problem may be attributed to how the system was configured. We are using Turbo on a Sperry 5000, the application tables are lumped in with everything else in the rootdbs. When turbo tries to cluster on a index with a row size of ~100,000 we would get a 408 error. I believe that turbo requires 2 - 3 times the space of a particular table to do all the table manipulations. I think turbo was running out of tmp space or something was being overwritten. If this happens, you can always unload the data, perform a unix "sort", delete the records in the table, and load the data back into the table. This is a pain in the behind, but it will resolve this problem. Not to worry, on-line version 4.1 probably doesn't have this problem.
