Mr Ruiz, I hope you understand English, because I can understand spanish, but don´t write it, ok? I believe your question depends on how much critical you system is, and also you apps are. Here I have an OLTP system, with more than 800 sessions on peak times, running just fine, simultaneous on r4gl with the engine, on the same machine, no matters involved. External applications running on windows servers, also access the IDS databases, but the general rule "it´s always recommended to run application servers separately from database servers" is always a good practice, don´t you think?? IBM 4gl is always "native access" based, so it doesn´t fit into that role, I think. It will most depend on what will be your applications memory, and disk requirements questioning. Regards.
