We are not certain why the Unix system crashes. We purchased a model F50 from IBM which, as I understand it from our Systems Administrator, has a less than reliable record. One complication is that the F50 does not reliably preserve a core dump when it crashes, so we have nothing to forward to IBM for trouble shooting. If anybody has some tips or tricks concerning the IBM F50, I am all ears. Never trust an electron, that's my motto. ==================================================================== Harold Luse Phone: (970) 491-4120 Veterinary Teaching Hospital Fax: (970) 491-4123 Colorado State University Pager: (970) 229-8173 Fort Collins, Colorado USA E-mail: hluse@vth.colostate.edu ====================================================================
