Informix Warehouse Installation Issue
Hi I executed the following statement: >install -Dprofile=E:\\\\Informix_Warehouse\\\\C1YF5EN.zip The status after installation in the log file is as: Installation: Successful with errors. 56 Successes 1 Warnings 8 NonFatalErrors 0 FatalErrors There are 8 Errors as mentioning the following statements: "Modify Text File - Single File: No Target Chosen Status: ERROR Additional Notes: ERROR - Unable to locate ASCII text file to be manipulated. Deferring..." And One Error as "Create Shortcut: C:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\SKASI\\\\Start Menu\\\\Programs\\\\IBM Informix Warehouse Feature\\\\DesignStudio.lnk Status: WARNING Additional Notes: WARNING - Shortcut has no target: ignoring" Kindly, let me know what is the purpose of these "ASCII text file" and how can i remove these errors ? Hi, I believe both errors are coming from Eclipse. These are some ideas, hoping they could be of any help, but you may want to contact tech support with the summary and detailed error logs that are created. - Verify the installation requirements and supported platform: For the IW Client: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v115/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.d we.install.doc/reqs_client.html For the IW Server: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v115/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.d we.install.doc/reqs_server.html - Check if the installer asked you if you wanted to extend and existing version of Eclipse, or install a new one: If you already had eclipse IDE on this Windows machine, maybe you could check the version (3.4.1 or later?). If the installer asks about extending an existing eclipse IDE on the computer, maybe you want to try telling the installer to install a new eclipse IDE rather than use and extend the previous one. Or, if possible, uninstall any previous eclipse and install IW client again, just to try a fresh installation of eclipse. In this case, the installer should not find any existing eclipse and will install eclipse. - Even if the installer doesn't ask you about an existing eclipse installation present in the machine, maybe you can check for one (look for eclipse.exe file) and see if you can either upgrade that one or uninstall it, in case it's interfering with the eclipse environment installed by IW client. - Before retrying the installation of IW client again, check in Control Panel -> Add Remove Programs if the IW Client (or Design Studio) product is listed, and uninstall it. Afterwards, remove the installation directory if you didn't install IW Server on that same directory (by default, c:\\\\program files\\\\IBM\\\\ISWarehouse), and retry the installation of IW client again. - If by any chance the list of IW client on Passport Advantage is showing two releases of IW, pick up the latest one available, to make sure you're using the most recent release. Hi, I have Installed Installed using "install a new one" rather than using exisitng one option for Eclipse. There is'nt any file "eclipse.exe" on my PC. I have only installed Informix Warehouse Client. I have Not Installed Informix Warehouse Server Yet. Regards Kasi
