When you try to install it second time, the allocated shared memory is still valid, Informix doesn't give it up! What you need to do is delete the informix segment using ipcrm, use ipcs to get the segment id. Then fix the kernel parameters, if you have to, reboot the system for them to take effect, continue installation of Informix. Good luck, Arun
