Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Benjamin Thompson shared a blog post on the AUTOLOCATE feature, saying it is more far-reaching than the manual suggests. Paul Watson and SangGyu Jeong thanked him. Oyvind Gjerstad asked whether index placement follows the same logic (16KB dbspaces); Benjamin had not yet looked into it but thought 16 kB for indexes would be sensible.

I have written a deep-dive blog post, which you may be interested in reading, on the relatively new AUTOLOCATE feature. It is a lot more far-reaching than it seems from just reading the manual. (With thanks to HCL Support for initially pointing out its use.)

Very interesting! What about index placement? Is the same logic applied to this? We tend to put indexes in dbspases with 16KB pages

It is a good question and I haven't looked into it yet. 16 kB for all indices would not be a bad strategy, if that is what it does.
