Melvin, We have upgraded from IDS 7.30.UC5 on our Sun sparc Ultra-enterprise and Sun sparc Ultra-5. Before the upgrade we had several unexplained errors with replication, Informix could not explain the errors and suggested we upgrade to 7.31. Since the upgrade (which was painless) things seem a lot more stable. The upgrade was done the middle of July and we have not experienced any grief with it yet, so I guess the upgrade is worth it. Stephen, We went through the same thing here, had 7.30 (hit the nasty 7.2-7.3 upgrade distribution perforamnce issue, though separate topic). Informix has several enhancements/bug fixes in 7.31 replication, so we upgraded to that version across the board (18 servers). 7.30 was far from a stable release with issues cropping up almost weekly. I've been told to stay away from 0 releases, and now I know why and will heed that advice in the future. We're currently running e-replication testing under 7.31 and have had very few problems in any environment. Certainly worth the upgrade... good luck. -Mike Adams Stephen.Manga@dbgroup.co.nz (Stephen Manga) wrote in <7pcvn3$dfp$1@news.xmission.com>: > >Melvin, > >We have upgraded from IDS 7.30.UC5 on our Sun sparc Ultra-enterprise and >Sun sparc Ultra-5. > >Before the upgrade we had several unexplained errors with replication, >Informix could not explain the errors and suggested we upgrade to 7.31. >Since the upgrade (which was painless) things seem a lot more stable.
