NEED INFO! HOW TO WRITE ESQL/C PROGRAMS.

Hi, I am a new developer in Infromix U.S. environment. We had Illustra Server. In order to migrate the old applications I need to write some functions that inserts and/or updates the info stored in the database: I've heard that I cannot make updates nor inserts from a SPL function, so I have to write C functions... HOW?? Need some URLs, DOCs, HELP, ..., on this subject.
