NEWERA "with hold"

Is there a way to declare a cursor with hold in Newera 2.2 using the ccl/odbc class library. I use a select statement to drive a couple insert statements. I need to do a commit work and that closes the main select cursor and I can't reopen the cursor because it would duplicate the inserts statements. Thanks Shannon
