DBDELIMITER

I've run into a problem involving an older copy (version 4) of Infomix. I have a data file that I want to load into the datase that is TAB delimited. I've tried setting the DBDELIMITER environment variable, and putting a DELIMITER statement into the SQL load statement. So far the only thing that has worked was to run the data file through a script to replace every TAB character with a pipe(|) character, and then load the resulting file. I would prefer having a cleaner solution, this one has the disadvantage in that the data file has to be parsed twice, once to replace theTAB character and once to actually load the data. Does anyone know how this can be done? It would seem to mean that TAB delimited files would be fairly common and there should be some method for Informix to deal with them.
