Informix and Java Native Interface

Hello, I'm working with a customer who is trying to use Java Native method to access their database (version 5.03) on hp_ux 10.20. They are using JNI to call an esql/c program compiled in a shared library. It fails at the time they try to connect the database (EXEC SQL database store). The error message they get is #1257 Operating system cannot fork process for back end. They are able to use C code or 4gl to call the esql functions.
