Just to add briefly to what Jonathon said. Recompile ALL .4gl files, if you use make delete any corresponding .ec and .c files, as some of the underlying library function calls have changed slightly and linking old .o files or picking up older .ec and .c files generated from .4gl source will cause strange problems.
