Simon, Some you win and some you don't. Yes, you can change databases in a program. The following code is prefectly DATABASE abc DEFINE a record like tab1.* MAIN CLOSE DATABASE def The non-procedural DATABASE abc causes database abc to be opened when the MAIN statement is executed. The CLOSE DATABASE closes this database and the procedural DATABASE opens database def. Be warned:- If database def does not have an identical schema to abc, or if abc is not available on the machine this techniques will fail. *********** As to your reports question, I'm afraid that the answer is a big NO.
