load from "xxx" fails
Posted in 1994
I've run across a problem on our HP9000 G30, OnLine 5.01 UC1 system. We have a table that is 501 bytes per row, 256000 rows. We want to drop the table after saving the data to a flat file, recreate the table, and reload. Unload works fine and generates a 26 Meg flat file. At about 53000 rows on the reload, the load dies with an error "corrupted load file" or somesuch. When we do a split on the load file using Unix "split -45000 loadfile" and load from the pieces, all rows come in properly with no errors, so it's not bad data. When we try deleting several hundred rows around the death point and reloading, it dies again (on the full-size - several hundred rows file). Looks like some sort of a file size problem, but the unloaded file comes out fine. Tbcheck has no problem with the file or with the indexes. Has anyone seen this? Informix says they can't duplicate it. -- =========================================================================== jlumbley@netcom.com (Joe Lumbley) Dallas, Texas Watch for my _INFORMIX DBA SURVIVAL GUIDE_ in Fall '94 from Prentice Hall! ===========================================================================
