ontape -s and ontape -r

Hi,
Do the ontape -s and ontape -r commands work between different versions of
operating systems (HP-UX and Linux) but same version of IDS (version 10)?
I want to backup on HP-UX using ontape -s and restore in Linux using ontape -r.
Thanks,
There is no guarentee that this will work. It would be better to use another
path to port your data. Unloads, dbexport, etc

Backups are not that portable. You can only backup and restore on the same
machine type, using the same version of the software.
To go between machine types, you need to either use ER to replicate or use
DB-Export and DB-Import.
