It's unlikely that he has sqlturbo available.
Try replacing that with oninit. That's the engine from version 6.x and
up. (sqlturbo may be linked to this file, so may be that works as
well??)
Basically you can change to whatever directory informix where
installed into. Under that directory you should find new once called
bin and lib. Inside these you will find several executable files.
Many of them will work with the -V option.
Even if your environement isn't set up correctly (INFORMIXDIR and
other needed varaiables are not defined) you should be able to get the
versionnumber by simply typing ./filename -V
You should of course course exercise the usual care in doing something
like this. Do have at least some idea what the command is, and that it
will not do something bad. Also the shell-scripts that are there most
often will give bad results if your environement isn't set correctly
first.
