I then restored the database(s) to this second system, extracted the data I needed and fixed up my trashed table on the original system. I alluded to the fact that 6.0 might solve such problems but I was wrong. As more accurately described in a note in this group a few postings back: 6.0 will allow for selective restore of individual dbspaces only, but that's the finest granularity they'll give us (which is a pity).
