machine notes for IDS 10 FC9 AIX

Hi everyone. I read the machine notes for IDS 10 FC9 on AIX. There is no mention of any need to be concerned with kernel parms. However, for every other operating system the machine-specific notes have specific kernel parm recommendations. I would assume this implies that there is no need to be concerned about kernel parms for AIX for IDS 10 FC9...but that seems a little odd to me. Does that seem right? In other words if the machine-specific notes for a certain IDS/unix OS install does NOT mention kernel parms then there is no need to be concerned about that? Thanks
Will, I assume you are looking at the release notes, correct? I have always been told that you need to look at the first release for the Kernel parameters, then look through all the following release notes to see if there are any changes. I would recommend looking at the IDS 10 FC1 values. Thanks! AIX 5.3 at least has some parameters that don't need to be configured... You can find some more info on AIX infocenter... just Google for it... But you should look at the machine notes... not the release notes... Regards and have a great new year! Kate and Fernando. Thanks for the responses. Yes I think that's what needs to be done...reading through ALL of the machine notes from most recent to oldest for the specific IDS (in this case IDS10 FC9). Thanks again!
