Thanks to all those that replied to my querry. Unfortunately none of the
suggestions you all mentioned (making sure DELIMITER is in lower case,
no quotes around the FILENAME) worked. Perhaps it was due to the fact that
this is not the compiled version. Whatever the case, the solution that finaly
worked and was suggested by one of the informix help line people was to
use the ISQL version of dbload which my friend already had. It seems to work
just fine. I share this tidbit of news so that if the problem comes up
again someone may suggest using the ISQL version of dbload (I didn't know
there was an ISQL dbload).
