I have inherited a server which runs SCO Unix Open Server Release 5. I know the server that it replaced (it was a year 2k upgrade) ran an Informix db engine. (I don't know what version.) I'm assuming that the current version is 7, but I don't know. (This server is only occasionally used for reference, and there has been no one to watch over it.) The last time I worked with SCO was about 5 years ago... How would I go about finding out what the db engine is, and what version? How can I find out the db name(s)? I'd like to use an ODBC connection from my XP Pro client to suck out what data I can, and I'm hoping that it has what this scenario would require, on the server end. I have an Informix v7 driver on my client, but I need to know what the db name(s) is/are, etc. Any help/guidance you can impart would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance, Tom
I'll assume you ar enot running cloudscape, redbrick or illustra....
If its SE 4 or 5 then
bcheck -V
If its SE 7 the
secheck -V
If its OnLine 4 or 5 then
tbstat -V
If its Online 6,7,8 or 9 then
onstat -V
Alternatively log in as root, and in $INFORMIXDIR/etc there should be
a hidden file, .crfile
That should tell you wnat products were installed in what arder,
oldest product at the top of the file
