Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

IDS 9.40 on AIX
Half the tables in the database are owned by root and half by informix.
Without an export/import is there any straightforward way of changing, say,
the root ones to owner informix?
thanks
Neil
Neil,
Update of catalog tables won't work because as far as I remember owner
info is at least in the system catalog tables and slot 2 or 3 of the
tbltablaspace table for each table.
The update will change the system catalog tables only.
Have a look at the rename statement, as one of the guys suggested it
could help you in your case.

Hacking system tables can be fun, but I wouldn't suggest trying on a
production system. The "rename table" statement only works in XPS, not
in IDS. Been there, tried that...
Your safest bet is to just unload/reload the table.
