processor affinity

Our Unix machine has 4 processors. According to the release notes for Online ver 7.24, my operating system supports Affinity. However, when I set the affinity parameter in the onconfig file to anything but 0 (I forget the exact name of the parameter), I get a message in the online log saying affinity is not supported. If I set the affinity parameter to 0, then the message in the online log says affinity has been set to cpu #1.
