Enabling DRDA

I'm trying, without success, to enable DRDA on Informix 11.10.UC1
running on SuSE LINUX.
In sqlhosts I have a line for it:
BARDRDA drsoctcp 192.168.1.60 9502
In onconfig I have both a NETTYPE and an ALIAS:
...
DBSERVERNAME BARNET # Name of default database server
DBSERVERALIASES BARIPC BARDRDA # List of alternate dbservernames
...
NETTYPE drsoctcp,3,2,CPU # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
...
But the server is NOT listening on port 9502 (confirmed via "netstat
--listen --tcp -n --program"). According to what I see in the admin
guide this seems to be all that is required to enable DRDA.

Hi Adam,
Try to use "," as delimiter between server name for DBSERVERALIASES. Specify
only protocol name for NETTYPE
DBSERVERALIASES BARIPC,BARDRDA
NETTYPE soctcp,3,2,CPU
BR,
Direk

Adam:
Did you add a DRDA vp class in your Instance?
onmode -p +1 drda ?
If you r trying to go from DB2 to informix, it's just fine.
If you r trying to go from informix to DB2 Mainframe (or DB2 for LUW, as
well), you must use Informix Enterprise Gatrway with DRDA.

Can you try commenting out the NETTYPE setting in onconfig and starting IDS
again?
Since you have the IP address in your SQLHOSTS file, are you connect by IP
address as well?
Did the server start at all?
Guy

First, tcp listeners should NEVER be configured in CPU VPs, so your NETTYPE
below should be specifying NET not CPU. Second, IB that the protocol
setting should just be soctcp - OK the 'dr' is optional according to the
manual, but I've never used it and seem to remember sometimes having trouble
because it was there. Last, IB that the
But your big problem IB are the upper case servernames. According to the
Administrator's Guide:
The dbservername field can include any printable character other than an
uppercase character, a field delimiter, a new line character, or a comment
character. This field is limited to 128 bytes.
