RE: onbar problem in 9.4
Posted in 2004
Verify that the permissions for onbar_d should be -rwsr-sr-x and the owner
is root and group is informix. Permissions for the onbar executable should
be -rwxr-xr-x and owner and group is informix. For all utilities that start
with on, (i.e. onmode, onmonitor,etc) have the owner as root and the
permissions as -rwsr-sr-x. Hope that helps.

1. Try testing all your connections on this instance with "dbaccess
--> connect --> connect".
2. Get a BAR_DEBUG_LOG on this failure and peruse. If needed, send
this to Informix support.
3. Check your MSGPATH log for messages on the instance side . . . did
it compain of a -951, etc.?
4. Any similar compaints with a fake backup ("onbar -F")?
5. Whenever I get errors that do not make any sense, I check the
permissions of the binary files ("$INFORMIXDIR/bin") and library files
("$INFORMIXDIR/lib") against what they should be in the
"$INFORMIXDIR/etc/IDSfiles" file.
Hope these suggestions help.
