i do not really agree with Chris,
start tuning it:!!!!!
if 512MB ram
why
BUFFERS 200000 # Maximum number of shared buffers
are you using 800 MB for your buffer cache??? this will NOT perform.
i agree that you need to configure a tempdbs!!!
also onstat -p would be nice; it sure sounds like missing indexes or
since TBLSPACE_STATS 1 # Maintain tblspace statistics
goto sysmaster
select * from sysptprof
where seqscans > 1
and check where you get seq scans on.
maybe you are comparing apples and eggs
eq join two tables
where tab1.col = int
and tab2.col = char
Superboer.

Ok, i have created a new dbspace for the database with 300.000 MB and another one for the operations and temp tables also with 300MB. The applications runs under Informix, and have a Persistence Driver (Hibernate). It can have connected up to 100 users at the same time. If you need to know sonethimg else about my app that can help to perform databse, please ask me about it... Thanks a lot.
