Hello,
we made a ontape backup from our main server and tried to restore it on
another server.
Main Server ---> 64bit Linux 11.50.FC5WE CentOS chunks created in raw devices
Restore Server > 64bit Linux 11.50.FC5WE Debian chunks created in the file
system
Start restore:
Restore will use level 0 archive file /backup/rechenknecht_0_L0. Press Return
to
continue ...
Using the backup and restore filter /usr/bin/gunzip.
Archive Tape Information
Tape type: Archive Backup Tape
Online version: IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC5WE
Archive date: Mon Oct 15 17:00:01 2012
User id: root
Terminal id: ?
Archive level: 0
Tape device: /backup/
Tape blocksize (in k): 1024
Tape size (in k): system defined for directory
Tape number in series: 1
Backup filter: /usr/bin/gzip
Continue restore? (y/n)y
Physical restore failed - function read archive backup failed code -1 errno 0
The file ist rw-rw--- for user informix.
The most strange thing is, that you could restore it on another server with
the same OS Linux (CentOS), but also with chunks in the file system.
Can someone give me a hint ??
Thanks
Klaus
It looks like you compressed the archive using the BACKUP_FILTER set yo
gzip. Make sure that the RESTORE_FILTER is set to gunzip to restore the
archive. It looks like you have it set to gzip.
