There are no standard port for tcp connections to Informix Servers.
Some versions of IDS Workgroup Edition on installation configures
themselves to listen to 1526 (sqlturbo service name) port. But in
general the port number is a matter of configuration.
So, to check the port number just look in /etc/services for a line
that contains sac_tcp - there is the mapping from service name
to tcp port number.

TLI is the API server uses to implement its network functions.
So, your client programs (including Java JDBC applications) can
use other API (including berkley sockets) to connect to database
server.
