FLOAT type arithmetic SUXX ?

Configuration is SCO UNIX v3.2.5, 4GL-RDS & ID v4.10.UC1. define f1, f2, s float let f1 = 10000000 # any number from 9215004 to 18438375 with any fraction let f2 = 9000.20 # any number from 8192 to 9999 # with 2,3,7 or 8 after the decimal point let s=f1+f2 The result is ... 8421408.00 ???!!! Can someone tell me what's going on ?
