MSC Vp taking up memory

Hi All, A small question. We are running IDS 7.30 UC8 on HP 9000 (HP-UX 10.20 and 1 GB RAM) and I have noticed that the MSC Vp is taking up a lot of memory as compared to other Vp (100+ Mb as compared to the other Vp's which take up 13-15 Mb). What exactly does the MSC Vp do ? (the manual says it handles Authentication, but does that take up so much memory) We have 95-100 users on the system at any time and lookups to the database from other machines via synonyms.
