Look for 7.11, it contains A LOT of bug fixes, one of which is the ontape performance problem.

}You didn't mention which version of 7.10 you were using. That
}would be interesting for us to know. I became aware of a similar
}problem in 7.10.UD1: A known bug causes the archives to take
}four (4) times longer than in 7.10.UC1. Perhaps they are related.

I am actualy running 7.10 UC1 which really scares me if UD1 will be four times
slower than the snails pace that I am already at !!!!!
