I have over configured the CPUVP's on my system (physical 6, virtual 12), and have been running like this for a while now without any issues Dirk IDS 7.31 Solaris 9 (on SUN V880) -----Original Message----- From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Curtis Crowson Sent: 08 February 2006 06:25 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: Solaris Dual Core CPU Colin Dawson Said: >My question is, should I use the number of physical CPU's -1 in the onconfig file or the number of virtual CPU's -1 ? The question to ask is which works better? I think you could at least use 31. We run 16 more CPUVPs than we have on our old Alpha box. We have found that it runs our system better. We have a 32 way box and run 48 CPUVPs. Does anyone else run more CPUVPs than CPU's? _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list > The information on this e-mail including any attachments relates to the official business of DigiCare (Pty) Ltd.
