Dual Instances

We have an RS/6000 4-CPU SMP machine running AIX 4.1.4 and Informix version 7.12.UC2. We also have another RS/6000 machine (single processor) running AIX 3.2.5 and Informix version 5.02.UC9. What we'd like to do is to upgrade our version 5.02 to 5.08 and install it as another instance on the SMP machine. Has anyone out there done this? Is it even doable? If so, how tricky is it to get the two separate instances to run together? Can we affinity our processors to allow 2 CPU's for vers 7, one for vers 5 and one for system stuff?
