We are not licensed to use Informix on the R50. It is interesting though. Can we have two instances of the same IDS engine, on different boxes, when we are licensed to use Informix only on of the boxes? You could do it with databases on cooked files systems but I reasonably certain that Informix won't support it and it is err flaky at the best of times. It does beg the question why though, why not just run an instance on both boxes and connect at an Informix level. Is it possible to map raw storage devices on IBM RS6000 (R50) to IBM RS 6000 (E30, AIX V4.3.x) using NFS? I need to use these raw devices for storing Informix chunks. If so how?
