I am using DBDATE=MDY4. It depends on your code. If you never tell the engine to convert a string with a 2-digit year in it, then you will have no problems, even after the year 2000 (at least, not with SE). On the other hand, if you do get the engine to convert a string with a 2-digit year in it, it will continue to add 1900 to the date, regardless of whether the year is 1998 or 2000 or 2030. Ditto with any ESQL/C or I4GL code. The DBCENTURY environment variable is all about how to handle 2-digit years, and that's all. > - There will be database incompatibilies? There is no automatic tool that I know of to update the source code. > The products: > > INFORMIX-SQL Version 2.10.03K > INFORMIX ESQL Version 2.10.03K > > I appeciate any hints.
