Either the Online engine is still up or when you brought it down the
shared memory segments were not removed. First try 'onmode -ky' as root
even if the engine is down this will usually remove any memory segments
left around. You can check with: 'ipcs|fgrep informix'. If memory or
semaphore segments are still around use ipcrm, as root, to remove them.
Note that if you get an error of the form 'segment does not exist' but
it shows up in ipcs that means that the segment has indeed been removed
but some application (dbaccess etc) is still running attached to the
shared memory segment. Killing the remaining applications will free
the segment so it no longer shows up in the reports.
Last resort, reboot.
