Intermittent locking errors on temp tables

We are running Online Version 5.03.UC1 on HPUX 9.04 and have for sometime been experiencing locking problems whenever a temporary table is created. Below is a sample shell script and fragment of 4GL that will duplicate the problem. What makes it worse is that it occurs when any form of temporary table is created (eg by "order by", "scroll cursor" and "group by" etc) Has anybody come across this and if so what was you solution. We have tried setting lock mode to wait but even then some programs stop forever. By setting "lock mode to wait nnn seconds" the error then becomes a deadlock timeout. I have spoken to Informix tech suppt and it is now registered as BUG 44575 and it is not fixed in 5.04, 5.05 or 5.06. Here is a sample shell script and 4gl fragment to reproduce our problem. another=1 while [ $another -le 10 ] do lock2.4ge & another=`expr $another + 1 ` done DATABASE stores MAIN SET LOCK MODE TO NO WAIT WHILE TRUE CREATE TEMP TABLE TEST (ref INTEGER) DROP TABLE TEST END WHILE END MAIN Program stopped at "lock2.4gl", line number 5. SQL statement error number -261 Cannot create file for table (aaron.test) SYSTEM error number -113. ISAM error: the file is locked If anyone has had any experience of the above and has any goopd ideas for work arounds please let me know. Thanks Aaron T
