Informix Performance Issues
Hi, We basically develope Telecom solutions. Recently, we were in the process of implemneting a feature which required the sum of call charges for a day for each subscriber. The table which holds the call information has 60mill records. The query sums call charges for the subscriber for a day . It returns 500,000 rows. This query takes over 20 hrs to finish. The version of IDS we are using is 9.21 FC4 which runs on Tru64 Unix 5.0a. We are unable to implement this feature owing to such a long delay for the query to finish. The table holds 3 months information. We have made 3 fragments. One for each month. Would appreaciate any suggestions. Cheers,
Post table schema with index info and the sql you used. You will likely be asked to post your onconfig as well. It should not take so long to process the query. Can you post the before and after query paths for the summation query please, plus schemas for the relevant tables? Do you run update statistics frequently?
