Yes, Sounds like you had an orphaned process that was holding
resources on the database.
Informix reccomends that when you have problems like this DO NOT
put the database into quiesent mode. If you do this you will not
be able to use tbmonitor and tbmode to identify and remove the
orphaned process.
But lets say you did, you can use the unix commands 'ipcs' and
'ipcrm' to verify the process is still in memory and remove it
from memory.
