Bug or What?

Hi, I've written an SQL-statement consisting of an UPDATE <table> SET <fieldname> =(SELECT <same fieldname as before> ....). But....although the fieldname DOESN'T exist in <table> the statement returns no error and doesn't update any table as well. What it actually does.....hmmm. I'm currently using IDS 7.31.UC2 on SCO 5.0.2.

Hi Andreas,
do you mean something like this:
UPDATE kstamm SETtestfeld =(SELECT testfeld from kstamm);
# ^
# 217: Spalte (testfeld) bei Abfrage in keiner Tabelle gefunden (oder ALV
nicht
definiert). (column not found!)
You see I got an error. Same IDS on Reliant Unix 5.43
