Anyone know what Informix' plans are regarding support raw devices under Linux ? Until then it seems that the Linux platform ois not practical for me since we are limited to cooked devices and therfore no control over page size etc.

Roughly speaking, Informix will start supporting raw devices on Linux when Linux supports Unix-style raw devices on Linux. There are experimental versions of the Linux kernel with real raw device support in them; there are none in the versions released by the Linux distributors (AFAIK). -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

Not yet, anyway. One to-be-proposed-standard method is in the works now that supposedly Linus has bought-off on... news to follow in the next couple of months or so. -- Alan Denney yosemite at accesscom.com The Early Bird gets the worm, but the Second Mouse gets the cheese.
