I and my co-author spent a year researching the report, financed entirely by Ovum. We have to recoup this through sales or (at risk of stating the obvious) we can't continue to research leading edge IT in such depth. My mention of the scores wasn't intended to "dangle" them to try to sell the report - I was trying to reassure any readers of c.d.i who had the report that the scoring would be unaffected by the exact release status of IUS's REF functionality. I do, however, have an article in October's Database Programming and Design which is based on a condensed version of our evaluation of the Oracle 8 Object Option (the full eval runs to 35 pages or so). This may be of interest and illustrates how our evaluation framework works with a real product (although, I know, not the one you really want to hear about). I can say, however, that IUS does well against the O/R functionality of the other market-leading relational products in the majority of our eight evaluation dimensions.
