Hi eveybody: I'm intentded to backup mi IDS 9.20 in my E10000 box and it doesn't have a local tape drive, after backing up my DB to disk i dump that file to tape, but my data is growing and it has reached the 2GB limit. Does anybody know any by-pass method, it is possible to use a remote tape drive (e.g. $ mt other_server:/dev/rmt/0 as used as unix command)? > Saludos... > Mario Meneses > Database Administrator > gedas north america -----Original Message----- From: William Rice [mailto:ricew@operamail.com] Sent: Monday, January 08, 2001 3:59 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: need dbspace/table report In article <3A59EF26.96436F00@nospam.fmr.com>, Doug McAllister <doug.mcallister@nospam.fmr.com> wrote: > Hi all.. > > I need to report on how much each table in a dbspace is using as a > percentage of the total dbspace space. > I have searched all of the usual spots and if there is such a thing, > then the description is buried. > > Has anyone done such a thing or can point me to where I would find it? > I do not care if the table is fragmented since I am interested in > dpspace info, and I do not have 4gl so I would need either scripts or C. > > tnx....... > > Doug > I figure you join systabnames, sysptnext, syschunks and sysdbstab and you will get the results you want. You use partnum to join systables and sysptnext, the rest aren't to bad to guess. Hope this helps, Will Will Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

You _should_ read the documentation at some point, now might be a good time... You _can_ use remote devices, you can can even set the environment- variable DBREMOTECMD to use something else than rsh to acccess that device (ie. DBREMOTECMD=ssh). Thomas
