memory allocation failed - error 406

I am trying to load a large (around a gig) msaccess database into an informix db on a Solaris 2.5 machine with Informix 9.x engine on it. I am getting this error (406) after several hours of loading. The sql is not doing anything other than loading data - no sorting or anything else. I do - although - only have 128Mb of memory on the Solaris machine.
