Using C programs from Informix ver 3.3 with ver 4.1
Posted in 1995
I am creating a new Unix host. I am upgrading from SCO Unix System V ver 5.3d to System V/386 Release 3.2. I am also upgrading from Informix-SQL ver 3.3 to ver 4.1. With minor changes, I have successfully moved the database structures and the Perform screens. With many changes, I am in the process of moving the Ace reports. The problem I am having is moving the C programs (i.e. userfuncs.c). I assume the programs need to be re-compiled; I have gotten many errors (i.e. cannot find cc, cannot find /lib/libcurses.a, and others). I borrowed those files from the older Unix system (this could be a problem). I changed the header file to "ctools.h". Now I get the error "Too many command-line arguments. Nonexistent file." Any help pinpointing the problem will be much appreciated. P.S. Is there an easier way to convert Ace report syntax differences other than the ole one-at-a-time by hand method? jkharris@utk.edu
