It is an ENVIRONMENT variable that is picked up by the application and passed along to the server thread. It specifies the size of the communication buffer used to transfer data back and forth between the client app and the server thread. The bigger FET_BUF_SIZE, the more data is buffered in the exchange. Do note that network libraries can limit the size of packets, such that they may be considerably smaller than FET_BUF_SIZE - this means more physical transfers have to be made to empty/fill these buffers. -- Dave Kosenko, Informix Professional Services **************************************************************** While it is true that there is more than one way to skin a cat, the cat himself generally fails to appreciate the differences.
