Upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit

I currently have a server running IDS 9.20.UC2, which is obviously out of date. I have gotten approval to upgrade the server to the latest version of Informix IDS 9.40.UC5. The server is running Sun Solaris 9, which is 64-bit. I'm wondering if anyone has upgraded straight from a 32-bit Informix server to another version of the 64-bit server, or if it is even possible to do that. If I need to, I can just go to the 32-bit server since there isn't much strain on this database.
