Assuming you're talking about Informix Online. If you're running on a single-processor HPUX machine, there is a serious bug (either in HPUX or Informix, much finger-pointing between the two over the past year - and yes, it has been over a year since we encountered the problem) with respect to process aging. The Informix engine, as a single process (rather than the many sqlturbo processes in 5.x), gets its priority decreased over time, despite having the noaging parameter set. Thus, database access slows to a crawl - typically, you have to reboot the system at least once a day to keep this in check. Supposedly will be fixed in HPUX 11.0, and backward ported to 10.2 and earlier versions. -- William Harris william@carsinfo.com
